The starting point of this installation is an audiovisual research on Berlin’s 70’s and 80’s bars and pubs.History as a fluid construction and the possible confusion between reconstruction and the so-called facts, play a main role in the installation. The soundtrack is made out of archive material, consisting of FM Einheit (formerly Einstürzende Neubauten) recordings, recent documentary recordings of remaining pubs and fragments of an interview with Harry Hass (founder of the ‘Ex’ n Pop Bar), by Julian Spaan, and creates an atmospheric character via five speakers distributed around the room.
