Flora and Fauna, 2022
Duo show with Sidsel Ladegaard at Institut für Alles Mögliche, Berlin
In the exhibition “Flora and Fauna,” artists Sidsel Ladegaard and Eva Pedroza create a whimsical microcosm whose composition oscillates between order and chaos. (…) In Eva Pedroza’s work, opposites are not mutually exclusive; rather, the friction between these two states forms the starting point of her artistic practice. ‘Soft walls’, ‘colourful shadows’ or ‘frayed lines’ come together to form a figure. A play with the unknown, where beginning and end usually remain unclear. Just when one thinks a smiling face can be clearly discerned, the next moment it contorts into an ugly grimace. Pedroza’s works meander between different poles and capture an ephemeral state that simply is.
